Nothing but flowers

I play guitar, mandolin, piano and kora. Spotify thinks I like rock, but I listen to a lot of jazz, Latin (I'm especially fond of son, cumbia, Tropicalia and plena), and West African (especially Malian) music. I studied guitar and kora in Mali, West Africa, with Hamane "Bastos" Touré and Dialy Mady Cissoko.

I've played with a bunch of bands recently: most recent is Ashes of Anemones (on my porch for West Philly Porchfest!). I also have a box of 4 tracks I recorded on a Porta 07 that I'm slowly digitizing.

I'm an inveterate acquirer of records, tapes and CDs. I have Edison cylinders and a phonograph to play them (it's super loud with the horn!). You can be my friend on Discogs, although I'm not entirely clear why that's a thing. I also used to collect live music recordings, in case you're looking for old Beck or Radiohead concerts.
